Show All 26 Reviews- I can confirm the Target mis-listing on this... 1/2 Abbey Road pressing just showed up. I would hurry and take advantage of this!
- Target currently has this available online for $25. Some of the reviews on that listing say it tends to go in and out of stock frequently. "If you can add this record to your cart, do it while you can!!"
EDIT: I just received the record and it’s actually the 1/2 speed Abbey Road master!!! Grab it from Target quick! - This pressing sounds absolutely Perfect on my system. Beginning to end every side. I Did detect a slight distortion on the VERY last track on Side D, but frankly that’s the only song on the whole set that I can “take or leave it”. Never heard it anyway. Every other song across all sides play perfectly. So this distortion thing others mention must be a sporadic pressing issue. I guess I got lucky! Playing on a Fluance RT-85, acrylic platter, Ortofon Blue cart, Fully restored vintage Pioneer SX-750 with Fluance XL8F towers and a Fluance 10” sub to match. Sounds incredible! Plus!… I Love Sade! I mean I’ve loved her since 1985. That voice, that elegant exotic beauty. That comes through in her music. Soothes the soul. And her band is Awesome. Very happy with this compilation. I had this when it fist came out on cd in the 90’s. FAR superior sound on vinyl!
- Edited one year agoAlbum sounds great, except of the last song on D side "Pearls". This track is completely going wrong with pops, crackling and huge distortions. Probably bad press. Needed to return to the seller.
EDIT: I recieved new piece after returning, now the original issue is gone, but still the last song "Pearls" doesnt sound good to my ears. Kind of distorted in louder passages. Has anyone the same problem? - I think this sounds like a typical MOV record. Clean, flat but just not quite elite. MOV typically uses high quality digital transfers and I think this sounds the same. It's not quite as warm, rich, expansive as it could be, but it's still very good. I'm happy with it.
- an excellent pressing. Really good quality, clean and almost no background noise. Deep bass, crisp sound and you don't need to boost the volume to listen! Sade's beautiful voice on top of that, it is a bliss. Very pleased. Sony hardly disappoints me with quality.
- Absolute perfection. As others have said here, this pressing is absolutely silent, clean, rich, and dynamic. Vinyl doesn't get much better than this. I wish every pressing sounded this good!
- Perfect sound quality, this is how any new vinyl should sound. Best press in my entire collection, play this on your turntable and it will sound like heaven.
