Would recommend tracking down a regular black vinyl copy. My copy is actually somewhat playable on both sides, but it’s uncomfortable to see my needle riding the record like a surfboard. Ended up getting a copy of the original a few days ago, much needed

My copy is so warped it literally looks like the disc is jumping up and down as it spins - having said that, it actually sounds quite good (save for a skip dropping the needle on the first side) and the gold color is really stunning, I seriously just take it out and stare at it

Weighing in here - copy I purchased definitely has some warp to it and has skipped in a few places because of that. I really wanted this to be a great record, it looks great and all the nostalgia from growing up watching the film. This record does not deliver, good chance I will end up getting another version in hopes of enjoying the music.

Purchased the gold edition of this recently. Based on the reviews I don't have high hopes. I guess record companies know that vinyl is a cash grab these days and don't demand better quality control at record plants. Very sad because the consumer loses here while they reap the rewards! I will update this once I get my copy.

Update 11/30/2020: Finally received my copy. After taking it out of the paper inner sleeve my first impressions was that it was very golden and 99.9% sure it is a picture disk. It is also heavier than I expected, which would make sense with a picture disk. I only played the first song from side A. Lots and lots of wobble but no skipping, so yeah pretty warped. Went from mono to stereo after about twenty or so seconds. I'll play more when it's not so late.

Overall so far I would give this about a 3/5 stars but likely to go down after I play it more. Stay tuned...

Side A is a mess , Side B is playable. Gold Vinyl looks great for show but if this is purchased to be played I wouldn't recommend

Glad it's not just my copy which is very distorted on side A! Horrendous pressing.. real shame as the gold vinyl looks brilliant.

Like everyone else, 1st copy received was badly warped and the record had busted through the bindings of the jacket. 2nd copy better, slight warp but playable.

Pretty bad warping but lucky it still plays and sounds pretty good with no distortion. Vinyl looks real pretty too.

Mine is not warped but distorts all over the place. I have it playing right now, I thought my needle was messed or maybe the amp...until I read the other comments on here.

Absolutely terrible pressing for such a cult classic soundtrack/film. The gold looks fantastic, the original artwork is lovely, but I've received 2 defective copies from Amazon, both either warped, or distorted sound in different ways. Totally unacceptable from a MAJOR record label, Geffin Records. How they've allowed this to stay in production this long is beyond ignorant - customers spend $30+ for a reissue like this and get a defective copy 9/10 times. Because there's plenty of people online saying they've also got defects. They should've pulled this and re-pressed non-defective copies, and replace our defects.
