Reviews
- Original pressing is a masterpiece. After hearing the ‘crystal’ 2020 pressing I set out on a mission to find a first press original copy, wanting to hear how it sounded when it was released. Found what I was seeking here in Discogs, shipped with care, this copy that was loved and cared for.. incredible. Comparing both side by side, there is no audible difference. Subjectively, this album brings me great peace and joy during the depths of winter, as I cannot listen to this in spring and summer. This single release is one of my top 5 albums of all time and a jewel in my collection. RIP Ian.
- Right up there with the very best albums of the 20th century, astounding from beginning to end; songs, performance, packaging, and production merging into a flawless whole.
- Edited one year agoCan't listen to this makes me want to commit suicide. Heavy dark depressing self indulgent angsty LP. I will avoid in future no wonder poor IC committed sluicide.
- Someone knows where the original Bernard Pierre Wolff photo is located now? Maybe an exposition or a museum or I don't know.
- the moderator of joy-division-central has found out that the colour of translucency depends on which sort of lightbulb is used.please check here for yourself (scroll to the bottom):
http://lwtua.websitetoolbox.com/post/help-concerning-first-pressings-2960657?&trail=200 - The advance promo pics of this implied there would be a clear (presumably plastic of some sort) insert included, when it is just white embossed card. It still looks very cool though.
- Edited 3 years agoIt arrived today and I played it. Perfect. High and Lo ends are precise and there is nothing on the record except a perfect album. As was already posted, they didn't put the record or sleeve into the inner printed cardboard sleeve. So they looked after collectors by doing so. The vinyl on the turntable is mesmerising. They did everything right. For 26 sterling, this album brought me back to my youth when I first bought it on Vinyl. Worth every penny. I have the original somewhere in the house, but can't find it to compare the sound
