Reviews
- A1 - Epigraph
lasse steen delivers with this great dark acidtechno track.
A2 - Wires (Break)
a recording of audio wires that have been broken?
A3 - Banging Happening
gabber-acid.
B1 - Pulley
excellent lasse steen production. has some rave elements.
B2 - Intensioner
wonderful acid techno. - The second P. server release on Fischkopf doesn't get the attention of the first, but it's still a killer release. The tracks are typical of Lasse Steen productions - raw kickdrums, minimal percussion, and distorted acid basslines - so you know what to expect. For me the standout track is 'Pulley', which deceptively starts with a shitty trance melody before launching into seriously heavy kickdrum action and at least two twisted acid basslines. Absolutely wicked! And with respect to cthulhu303's comments, my copy of this record sounds clean and loud, with no volume issues.
- Edited 17 years agoFischkopf could really have used a decent sound engineer or mastering programme. Whereas the first P. Server is in the red no matter what, this one hardly produces enough sound, regardless of the equalisation. A shame, really. Other than that, the content is what is to be expected from Steen: distorted Acidcore, neither bad nor groundbreaking. The 303 lines evolve slightly more than usual, the kick is more muffled (as is the whole sound, in fact) and some dodgy samples appear here and there (e.g. in the beginning of "Pulley"). Decent.
