You know I ignored this release for quite a long time. When you think of all the gems on the Lucky Spin label its easy to overlook this record. When listening to the youtube videos in the past I must have been in a more pumped up mood and just said boring....This all changed the other day. I was listening to one of N-Flow's wicked sets and all of sudden those great pads from Orkid come sweeping in. It stopped me dead in my tracks and I rushed over to my computer to check the tracklist. Wild Orkid- that can't be right? That boring record? Sure enough Orkid was the jam and the flip The Magic In You is just as good. I should have known better because Darren Beale is involved in this production (Orca, Koda, etc) and I love his earlier tunes. Buy this record, soak the vibes of this record up, you will not be disappointed at all. Right now I'm chomping at the bit for it to arrive in the mail- maybe mix it with some Van Kleef!

I played this at the wrong speed. The 33rpm sounds too slow :)

The A side is probably one of my favorite jungle tunes of all time. From the vocal 'Magic in you' (from "Don't Lose The Magic" by Shawn Christopher), this tune plods along nicely on it's bubbly reggae influenced journey, to me the perfect drum loop that could repeat forever without sounding boring... great for mixing into and out of, a tireless track, and epitomy of a good Jungle track - the mixture between Reggae and Breaks.
