Reviews
- Awesome pressing! The vinyl is dead flat, silent, and sounds pretty dynamic. Came in full poly sleeves. Cool colored vinyl as well. Highly recommended release for Ween fans!
- I just want to say my copy, a "Plain Recordings" double LP, one pink and one blue, the one everyone is saying is awful, sounds fantastic. In fact, every Ween LP or Double LP I own sounds amazing, and I'm not just saying that. I don't have low standards, I have multiple albums that sound awful, like my translucent green copy of "Year of the Snitch" by Death Grips, I was unlucky with that one. But I have every Ween album aside from "White Pepper", "12 Golden Country Greats", and "Shinola". I want them all, and I'll have them eventually. I even have most of their live records. It seems some people's pressings from "Plain" suck. That's unfortunate. Every "Plain" pressing I have rules. If you love Ween, take a chance. I have like five or six "Plain" pressings and they all sound amazing. This record specifically is one of the best sounding records I have out of 150 or so. Probably in the top 15 or 20 as far as sound quality.
- My copy absolutely sucked, there where so many pops, there was a skip on papa zit, and my marble design wasn’t marbled, it was just full color, I guess I got one of the bad pressings.
- Must admit I'm surprised at the decent reviews on here of this release. I bought this as a cheap alternative to the first issue on Twin/Tone. This reissue looks pretty but sounds like it was recorded inside a cardboard box. I had to crank my amp up to the max to get minimum satisfaction. I've just bit the bullet and forked out £85 for the first issue and stuck this pile of wank on ebay. Don't waste your money if you're after a quality recording.
- Copy sounds fine, at the very beginning of Birthday Boy there is a loud pop that I thought was a skip but it wasn't
- This pressing actually sounds decent for a Plain Recordings reissue. The jacket is flimsy and easily bent, though. Boognish would approve, with a shrug.
- Record sounds good to me, but the jacket is the flimsiest pile of shit i've ever seen, and the labels on the records are creased and peeling off straight out of the wrapper, and the white marble effect on the pink record looks really ugly
