- Edited one year agoThe vinyl has an awfull pressing... Never had experience something so bad with lot's of "pops" in some sections. It has "half-speed certificate" but the final result is really bad...
- 2006 LP version is extremely bad. The slot on the LP doesn't even fit the turntable how crappy it's made. The sound is like from a Chinese factory made quality.
- In 2004 Amy Winehouse scored Platinum with her jazzy debut Frank. Her powerful voice that cracks in concrete can bring, it turned out wonderfully well to combine with subtle compositions. After two years of worldwide to have occurred with the repertoire of Frank had they had enough of jazz. For the much needed inspiration for Back To Black they listened a lot to girls groups from the 1950s and 1960s. Especially The Supremes and the work of producer Phil Spector had her preference. Once again she drew for her own production Salaam Remi, but also Mark Ronson, the man behind the success of Robbie Williams and Christina Aguilera. The three of them do they know the sound of the fifties and sixties perfectly with a modern twist. Also the short playing time of tracks from the time is being maintained, because Winehouse knows her repertoire of ten songs in a tight turning 33 minutes.
- Amazing voice indeed and to me Amy Winehouse is already a legend, but I got the feeling she will be worshiped even more in 20 or 30 years... I also can recommend everyone to read Amy, My daughter, if you haven't already.
- Edited 6 years ago173 412 Universal - brandnew unpacked and an overall noise carpet as if there's sticky dirt in the groves. Nothing visible by eye... washed 3 or 4 times - no change. Will try discofilm once - but I really hate this. Have Diana Krall that has visible "something" spilled over, no chance to wash it, restist. sounds similar like this one.
- This is easily one of the best records of the last decade (the 2000's). Such an amazing voice and some incredible production from Mark Ronson. The lyrics are autobiographical and give a frank insight into her troubled soul singing about sex, drugs, alcohol and Roger Moore. My favourite track for me has to be 'You Know I'm No Good', where the production gives a nice throwback to the Boom-Bap style of 1990's Hip-Hop such as DJ Premier. Other higlights include Rehab, the title track, Tears Dry on Their own and the beautiful ballad 'Love Is A Losing Game'.
I was so gutted to hear about her death. She had so much talent, and it was such a shame she destroyed herself with all the booze and drugs.
May she rest in peace, and let her music be remembered forever.
