Reviews
- Edited 3 years agoI'm going to give the same general review on all these newer Bullwackie's, as they sound near identical in presence, sound-stage, separation, etc. Some a little better than others, will. note.
Jacket quality is solid all-around, transfers are well enough done considering their minimalism, and what they probably had to work with sometimes. But no complaints.
Sound quality on all of these are good, but not great. Clean, solid sound, good detail, staging, etc. But they also have too clean of a sound compared to any of the original Wackie's stuff I have. His discs were usually pretty wild, and loud. These all sound pretty tame. Again, clean, enjoyable, nicely done transfers, but digital transfer sound is pretty obvious in comparison. Much better than a lot of stuff out there. Germany usually does good work with any source, and care was put into these, that is clear. But none of them sound like convincing replicas of the OGs. 7/10. No pressing issues on my copy.
*The dullest sounding of these releases I have, but suspect the original tape wasn't all the bright to begin with. Pretty tame, and similar Dubs by Wackie's standards. Not my favorite tracks, but even his worst was pretty great, so.
