I'm a fan of Dilla's early work and collaborations with Madlib and Slum Village, but there is a reason why this album was shelved....it's pretty bad. From the bragadocious/ misogynistic lyrics, to the weak beats (there are a few exceptions on here ie. the joints done by Madlib and Pete Rock) this album fails to hit its mark. This is definitely not Dilla's Shining moment (no pun intended). If you want that vintage Dilla, you are better off checking for the Shining, Ruff Draft or even Jay Stay Paid, three albums where he had total control over the production.
