Notes

Sticker on shrinkwrap: "Limited edition gatefold double vinyl DJ Shadow classic tracks never before released in America plus new single High Noon (314 540 867-1)" However, the album has been pressed several times in large quantities.

Liner notes printed in the gatefold sleeve:
"All songs contained on this album are previously released by Mo Wax in England. Until now, the only way to hear them was by obtaining import copies. I wanted to make them available to those who enjoyed ''Endtroducing....." while I still had some control over their presentation consume at leisure and then decamp... before sample laws catch up with us." Followed by thanks.
This record is dedicated to the memory of Paul Ballenger.

Just found an original 98 press for 55$ CAD in a local shop today. I've never come across this one in the wild, had to get it.
Been a fan forever, basically since Endtroducing. Saw him open for Chemical Brothers in Vancouver in 98. Preemptive and Endtro are just legendary to me and shaped that whole era for me. So glad to add it. Mo Wax was just killer stuff back then.

Excellent compilation of DJ Shadow’s early works, even if it does lack ‘Entropy’, which is one of my favourite early Shadow toons. Best track would have to be the very funky almost Big Beat-esque ‘Extended Overhaul’ remix of ‘Orgon Donor’ from Shadow’s first LP and the 12 minute epic ‘In/Flux’, which is a trip-hop classic.

Here is a tip on how to define press quickly: on the reissue almost half of A side is dead wax, while on A side of original one the grooves are almost up to the label

My copy says "PROMOTIONAL COPY, NOT FOR SALE" in gold, on the back cover above the track list.
          Anyone else?

My first CD from DJ Shadow! Blew me away in 1998, still rocks today! Superb collages and great chilling tunes! Just looked up my playlist, the album most played from all of his works, just followed by Endtroducing.

Great compilation! Very atmospheric and relaxed music. I love these jazz elements...
