The Peel Sessions album could be the definitive 70GP release in many ways, first time I heard them was on Peel and they've haunted my dreams ever since. Above all there's such swelling emotion in the music this duo produced. Righteous anger would not have been nearly as compelling by itself, there's so much more across these 19 tracks - sadness & beauty, rage against systems (focusing on their own UK) and bible black humour are all present - and the towering beauty of the music leaving the listener overwhelmed. Peel knew it as soon as he heard it, something unique and all-consuming.
