This is such an important album, and I am beyond stoked to have it on my record collection.

HOWEVER while this is known to be a legit release, the sound could be better, and the fact that it ends with a minute of silence (as on the original CD version) followed by ONE of the three bonus tracks that were on the various versions of the original CD (rather than, no gap and then all 3 songs) has always made me think that this record is a CD rip. :(

I mean, what record has a minute of grooves wasted on the silence before a CD-style bonus track? In 2016!? Come on... This is nice to own but it's a lazy press. Hope one day to be proven wrong though.. :)

This was the first hint of what Clutch, the band would really become with Jam Room and Pure Rock Fury and onward into the statosphere with Blast Tyrant.

It’s a weird, funky groove of an album, and it’s awesome.

This LP is mixed a bit on the quiet side, but it’s warm and clear, and when you crank it, the muddy swamp fuzz is appropriately awesome.

Found this in a bin at a record store in Vancouver, Canada in 2018 - it was priced a little high ($55-$60 range Canadian), but it didn’t disappoint.

This was a rsd release in England. To be honest I think it's official. As far as I know RSD doesn't do bootlegs. I as far as the bands invovlment I don't think they own the rights. I think hense is a why you haven't seen another repress. I this album is was the last before they created weather maker records.

Sound quality is actually slightly better than most of the Back On Black releases, which probably also explains the low signal levels.

Factory sealed copies of this album have the discs and their inner sleeves placed inside the covers gatefold, not within the pockets.

This CLUTCH album here sounds warm without surface noises BUT THE VOLUME IS LOW. I m wondering why the volume is so low in many represses.

Must have for my collection but the sound quality is lacking. Very flat sound w/ no dynamics.

Maybe nit-picking here, but I have to agree that the volume levels are quite low. The cut between Crackerjack and Dragonfly is not pristine. It would've been better had these songs been on the same side. However, the sound across the two slabs is lovely and warm, there is very little surface noise (even though you have to crank it to hear it proper-like!). Will forever be (oh-so-slightly) disappointed that this special RSD vinyl release does not have all three bonus tracks. I can also confirm that my bonus track is '05'.

                    So, in short:

this is an officially licensed pressing, although the band had no involvment in its making. The quaity of the sound is decent, especially for a color vinyl release. I supposed the 45RPM mastering helps in that department.
The quality of the printed matters is above average considering modern standards.
All in all, it's a good vinyl release, although the source for the mastering is definitely NOT the master tapes, but most likely decent quality files, and the listing price is quite high.
I still consider myself lucky to have found a copy! This was really, REALLY needed on vinyl.
