I totally felt in love for Kinda Late when I first heard it from Bastien, but it took me more time to get into Summa Breez. The turning point was maybe when I saw Kyle Hall opening his set at Rex Club with this track.. it put the whole packed club into such a great mood... great time!
Now I play Summa Breez way more often than Kinda Late.. somehow it reminds me some old Roy Davis Jr tracks. Congrats Bastien!- Edited 8 years ago"Kinda Late" is the nostalgic late 90's R&B vocal stab EQ'd and looped, and a filtered stop-and-go raw boom-bap house percussion line. Mix it in as an opener, closer, or in the middle of set inbetween some high-energy old raw Detroit house.
- Edited 8 years agomy favorite release from Apron, Kinda late is emotional and strong at the same time. The sound is handled in a very subtle and delicate way. Big up !
one of my favorite apron releases, each track is really something- Kinda Late, a track that has the nit and grit of DIY detroit sound and a sensual soulful loop that will keep you up for days!
