Reviews
Show All 12 Reviews- Great boxset. All the live cds are great and it's really cool to see these old shows with cliff in them. The book is great filled with all the great photos and stories. The rough mixes and demos are always great to hear. Highly recommended!
- Just in case someone gets confused looking at their discs, CD1 in this set like kill 'em all deluxe box set, the catalog numbers on the CD face are the same as the standalone discs you will not be able to tell the difference if they are sitting side by side the matrix is the only way to identify if it came with the box set or if it was the standalone release. The biggest and easiest way to look at the matrix is look for the D in the matrix as well as the 2.1 the single disc edition just has R-2 not RD-2.1. I just figure someone may accidentally mix them up if they have both or if someone pulls a switch disc on someone. The other discs are clearly labeled on the CD face.
- Edited one year agoHow does this sound compared to the 1984 Electra/Megaforce release? Specialty Press, Allied Press or 1984 Reissue. Just curious how it sounds compared to the 80’s releases. Thanks
- Edited 2 years agoLoving the Hollywood show on vinyl - it's super raw in terms of the performance and James' guitar is mixed a bit low but it fizzes with energy and is a really fun listen compared to the more polished live sets in the years to follow.
- This entire box set is amazing! The demos and rough mix disc is fantastic. Wow, who knew Ride The Lightning could be even heavier!! The remastered LP sounds excellent. It is cut low so you have to crank it. I own a MFN 2lp and an ‘89 Korean pressing and this compares favorably. Great job by Chris Bellman.
- The generic covers are a bit lazy compared to the MOP box set and the posters basically being the same, but still content wise just a massive collection of great stuff. If you love this album you will love this box set.
- finally got round to finishing all of this. the box set is fantastic. the remastered LP of the album sounds good enough. an improvement over recent re-issues but still not as good as the ones from the 80s.
CDs and DVD material is all great. I also love the book, a real trip down memory lane. Cant wait to pick up the Master box when it comes out. - Just received mine and it has not come from the US but Universal Music Italia I hope this isn't a bootleg?
