Harmonic 313, Jedi Knights, Global Communication, etc... Mark Pritchard has participate to some of the greatest musical projects of this past 30 years! I went bonker when I heard he was releasing a solo album.
Solo? Well, no so solo since Thom Yorke lended his voice on "Beautiful People" or Kristy Hawkshaw on "You Wash My Soul". It is not the first time they worked together though, shall you check their collaborative work Pulusha's Isolation EP you'd be mesmerized by the beauty of this EP.
SO, I went bonker and I pre-ordered it, got it in a flimsy slim digipack I was too afraid to damage, listened to it and got a bitter taste in my mouth. I was not expecting this but to be frank, what was I expecting? Global Communication or Pulusha? Harmonic 313 or Reload? No, I was expecting Mark Pritchard and that's what this album is all about. It took me a flipping year to come to this conclusion. I slowly but surely started to love this album, mostly for his ambient works like "Sad Aldron" and "Give it Your Choir", and it will be the reason why I'll go buy the Expanded Vol.1 LP because "Light Bodied" is an absolute gem! I just wished he had released a double album, including the expanded vol.1....
