Reviews
- Edited 2 years agoThis is the 1978 follow-up to Boston's masterpiece of a debut album ('76). The formula for songwriting, arranging and recording is identical, but it simply cannot capture the magic of the first album. The songs sound very familiar, a logical extension to It's predecessor, but apart from the title track, "Don't Look Back" and "Party", there are no runaway standouts.
If you dig this album, you may also enjoy Triumph, "Allied Forces". Check it out.
The album is recorded beautifully, with excellent mastering by Wally T. This pressing is very clean and sounds wonderful. No complaints at all. Tom Scholz is an admitted audiophile, and you must appreciate the analog path and non-digital treatment of these albums.
3.5 stars for the album. If you love Boston, grab it!
