I have a promo CD version of this release. It comes in a standard white tray jewel case with a red photocopy of the original sleeve on red card. The CD is a cdr with the band name and label & catalogue number written by hand. The back sleeve is plain white. This edition doesn't appear in the Discogs database. If any one is interested in taking this off me then drop me a message and no, I am not interested in huge sums of money, i would much rather it went to someone who is a genuine fan.

Friendly reminder that you can grab these for 20 bucks on Constellation's website instead of extorting your money over to scalpers

Represses finally restocked on Constellation's website, grab them for a lot cheaper than what these people are selling for.

Don't buy anything from these flippers attempting to make it a "limited edition original pressing" shit. You can quite literally buy it for $15 bucks at the constellation website.

as the album title suggests, this record is bleak AF. I guess I view it differently after 20 years. I prefer "Born Into Trouble as the Sparks Fly Upward," but this album started it off for me, so it will always have a special place in my heart.

Why are these going for so much nowadays? I remember a year ago they were going for around $20. I say that because these are still available on Constellation rather cheaply. So what's up with this?

It's hard to describe the effect that this LP had on me. After the first couple of listens it seems to expand exponentially and I always seem to find new moments of devastating depth and melancholy. My main musical interests are in techno and hiphop and this seems to fit perfectly within my musical spectrum. It's not rock and it's not classical exactly either. Some of it sounds like Aphex Twin during his moments of serene beauty and revelation. It's a masterpiece of musical experimentation and shows how far talent can push boundaries and still include great songwriting and catchy tunes.

An amazing album topped by the track; '13 Angels Standing Guard Round The Side Of Your Bed'. In my opinion this track is possibly the most wonderful piece of music ever written. It was fittingly used by Harmony Korine, in his film Mr Lonely (2007) to accompany a group of nuns throwing themselves out of an airplane without parachutes. The nuns elegantly perform mid-air acrobatics, putting their fate in 'Gods' hands, under the guidance of a deluded priest played by Werner Herzog. Sheer beauty and utter sadness. Enough said.

Good type of melancholy with a little sad on it. Great!
