What an absolutely superb sounding record full of absolutely superb sounding music. If only all modern pressings were done this well. For me this is one of the best Pink Floyd albums, it just has this atmosphere...... (I adore Relics in the same way, yes I know it's a compilation, but such a good one). There is such a variety of music on here, leaves me in a chilled and blissed-out state. After a crappy day its one of my go-to albums to de-stress. Fantastic.

Very nice reissue and a personal favorite, although is considered one of the weakest Pink Floyd albums.

Much better than my old CD. Its not peak Pink and its of a time when psyche was rapidly fading to become prog but its still a good record. For £18 ive got an excellent pressing from Optimal (far from alwaysthe case now!) that plays flat and nr silent. I wish they were always this well pressed again! Sound is excellent given the recording isnt a high watermark. Nice poly lined inner. Colour me happy!

(Colombia 2014 180g. UK&E version) A lovely pressing. Bought it as a present for a mate and am about to buy another copy for myself!

As for the album... I was a HUGE Pink Floyd fan when I was a teenager but couldn't listen to their work for 20+ years due to uncomfortable associations with people I would rather forget. I recently started to listen through their albums again... water under the bridge, and all that. Of all their recordings, 'More' seems to me to be the most interesting and enjoyable. For anyone who is neutral on their work, of course 'Dark Side of the Moon' and 'Wish You Were Here' are likely to have the most immediate appeal. But 'More' seems something special to me. It retains what people refer to as "English whimsy" in common with their earliest records with Syd Barrett but dispenses with much (not all - 'Quicksilver') of the dissonant abstraction which make 'Piper..'. and 'Saucerful...' very "interesting" records (and also rather difficult to listen to). It's adventurous, in that it juxtaposes hard rock (the Nile Song) with jazz ('Up the Khyber'). In 'Party Sequence', it even incorporates a hippy bongo interlude. Somehow the whole does actually work together. Perhaps it carries a sense of place with it (openly in 'A Spanish Piece'.), the album having its roots in the band holidaying together in Formentera. In any case, it's an absolute gem. Why it still lacks acclaim by "the critics", I am not quite sure. Best thing they made, in my book.
