Master guitarist Jan Akkerman's been to his yet another solo album. Fourteen instrument nematodes with influences from all over the world. Themes reminiscent of licks by John Scofield and Stevie Wonder-like chord progressions prevail. Eric vloeimans, the jazz trumpeter, has been hired to two tracks up, and so does it again as we come to expect from him. The plate is completely via the internet. All the band members have their parties in a different location. Those parties are then combined again while mixing. The end result is by Aa described as one of the most difficult things he has ever done. He is, after all, not only the guitarist and composer, but also the producer and sound engineer. And that can be heard.
