One of the most beautifully soft and elegant albums ever created. Completely transports you into a world of sun, simpleness, and innocent romance. Despite my background with music being predominately electronic and rock, it's albums like this I would limitedly take with me to a deserted island.

I have a US pressing with a different cover that has more of a bluish tinge and the name Sade is in light blue instead of red. The whole image and cover design has more of a faded feel compared to the vibrant colors. The cover has a small promo stamp on back near bar code. Were promo copies given with these covers? I can’t seem to find this version and haven’t found other copies like that online. Can anyone help? Thank you.

Excelent quiet pressing, really soothing mastering choices made here. Don´t have any othre copy of this LP to compare, but even so, an all around great pressing.

Sade's "Stronger Than Pride" vinyl is a timeless blend of smooth jazz and soul. Sade's rich and soulful voice is complemented by the tight rhythm section and jazz-influenced arrangements. The production is top-notch, showcasing the perfect balance between the singer's voice and the accompanying music. The vinyl format adds to the overall experience, making this album a must-have for fans of smooth jazz and soul music.

Fabulous record, timeless soul music. I have the first pressing U.K. copy and although a little quiet and flimsy vinyl it sounds great. I forgot how good this album is.

Pas de pochette. Disque trouvé dans un lot sur un vide-grenier mais en bon état.

I have BL 1017 in my list.

Terrible packaging, but surprisingly good sound. It came from Tashkent (Uzbekistan) I believe. Their vinyl factories were the worst in USSR. But this one really impressed me.

I was lucky enough to take it from my friend, who used to work in local library. He said that this copy was Very Good +. But I think It sounds too classy for VG+ status.

Anyway, the album is eternal masterpiece. Sade's magnum opus.

I went overboard in some reviews as whatever I don't have to give excuses, but anyway I find it funny how the shadow of this album (and previous from Sade) were everywhere in the downtempo and electronica during the 90s and 00s. Sade and her band - all four are an integral part of the looks, the brand, the sound, the mood - go a bit further than the home listening and blend it a bit with soul and disco jazz, which on one hand gave them quite a success in mainstream because on how accessible they were and on the other that the production is so rich and complicated that it predates all the craze with slow disco so many years later. And it was funny, because on one hand the Sade albums were considered the easy listening, the listening for dinners, but on the other "Turn my back on you", "Keep looking", "Paradise", "Nothing can come between us" are incredibly moody ambient jazzy disco tunes with a so careful use of call and response and syncopation that makes them so unique and catchy.

There are things here that take you back to the year it was made as the instrumental and some ballads, but the influence, oh the influence. You go to Dekmantel and someone drops Sade. You go to a Church or Coastal Haze party and Sade is there. You hear hints of Sade in the Latin years of John Beltran. If this band are still that admired in the electronic scene is because we grew up with that and our love with rhythm and melody is related to what is exposed here.

And the title song is one of the most beautiful love songs ever and "sitting here waiting for you would be like waiting for winter" gets me every time and I rest my case members of the jury.

                      Bad cut! CD sound.
Lacks richness and fullness of other analogue pressings.
