- Edited 4 months agoMy copy sounds great. I got it new back when it came out. As others have stated, it has excellent lows/full bass. It reaches the depths, is present and dynamic.
I didn’t wet clean my copy, just used an antistatic brush. I only heard two pops. The beauty is they were both together and perfectly in sync with the beat.
I like that two people did the album art. The inner gatefold imagery is a nice juxtaposition in style to the front and back. - I've not heard the other pressings of this record but I cannot imagine them besting the original KG at ATM. My original Badman "It Still Moves" was better than the reissues as well. Highly recommended. When "Wordless Chrous" starts off you'll know you're in for a treat.
- It’s so great when they get it right the first time!! Mastered/cut by Kevin Gray...say no more. So glad I got this the day it came out. Hard to imagine anything topping this one.
- Wow this is amazing. So glad I didn't take a risk on any of the represses. Love when the OP is the best press. Trust in KPG.
- Fantastic first pressing by Kevin Gray of a great album. If you love this album save up and get this original press. You will never hear it sounding like this on a repress.
- Edited 4 years agoDoes anyone have insight on the quality of this pressing versus the ATO versions? Is it the same? EDIT: I have now acquired a copy of the Badman original, and can confirm it is far superior to the ATO pressing. Just awesome.
- I saw an online lecture provided by TED who suggested that 'genius' isn't something that permanently belongs to someone's life - it comes and goes; settling on one person for a time then moving onto another. No-one can live their who life a genius, similarly no artist can put out a career of masterpieces; we have moments of clarity where things sometimes seem to fall into place perfectly but more often than not we don't. When I listen to this album I can't help but think that MMJ had their moment of clarity; it's a phenomenal album far beyond the efforts of their other releases, good though they are.
