Having purchased a Microline tipped AT VM95 cart im now able to get a tune out of this one albeit the compromises remain. The IGD is profound and simply built into this cut regardless of needle. The side length is not ideal but ive heard masterings work around longer lengths before for example the MOV cut which is single disc uses DMM to mitigate the drop off even though its still by no means perfect. At least now the sound quality doesnt fall apart with the ML tip as it did with my olde Shure elliptical. Its just still rolled off at the ends and loses life and the whole thing is so low in volume. Mercifully the MPO vinyl is fairly quiet without their oft encountered non fills so it could be alot worse.

Honestly though, the CD is better. It simply is the way to hear this recording as it stands. This would change if someome did a 45rpm double disc cut. So, Analogue Productions...... PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN!!! This is one of the best records of the nineties and maybe the best indie record of all time and it deserves no less!!

Same as the other reviews really. Lacks information, clarity and really have to turn amp up loud int order to hear anything. Defo avoid.

Missing a lot of detail compared to the digital version… also cover photo is of low resolution, the same like the music ;-)

The album is great, the recording is typical digital to vinyl, but the press itself is really.mediocre. I have tried 3 sealed copies and they're all full of clicks and pops. A pity.

I held off buying this pressing due to the negative reviews but decided one day to just try it. Not sure what everyone is on about... the pressing sounds nice, it's quiet and the cover / insert is good quality.
I imagine the Double LP pressing issued later will be the better pressing due to less compression however for the price of thus I am very happy with this purchase.
Does need a good clean before hand... can't stand new LPs not being looked after properly!

Quality of the images are really poor which I noticed right off the bat. However, the cover itself has a matte finish which I actually quite like. Everyone already said everything about the pressing itself so I have nothing else to add about that. It's really noticeable on some tracks more than others.

Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing now. My copy is the same. Pops and crackles in places like a well-used old copy, instead of brand new repress. And the sleeve ain't much better. A classic album, and derved much better

Can't recommend this one. Cover and insert images of very poor quality. Vinyl sounds compressed and plays with lots of pops which should not appear on a new vinyl. If you love this album, save up some cash and buy yourself an original instead.

One of those albums I was sure that I would pick up one day. Finally did and I have to say that this sounds very dull and unexciting. The mastering sounds like it was done by a robot. The cover looks like it was scanned from a cd. It sounds like this is just the cd mastering pressed on vinyl. This is a classic record. It's such a shame when the record company can't be arsed to do a proper job on these repressings. This could and should have sounded alive and exciting but instead sounds flat and narrow.

Great album, but the pressing is definitely nothing to write home about. Feels very compressed.
