Show All 34 Reviews- This is an incredible pressing. The packaging is outstanding as well with thick, high quality cardboard outer sleeve and lined inner sleeve.
- Mine has different runouts- B002429301A- 222033E1- 1013487(All Stamped)
B002429301A- CB(All Etched)
Anyone else have this variant? - Yes - it sounds very good. Also helps when the songs are really good.
Someone mentioned Mary Jane being a different mix, but it sounds like the same version like on the cd issued years ago to my ears. - Great pressing and sound. The only thing and probably you will not notice is the Mary Jane's Balad. Is not the same one that the original release cd. Is another cut with really tiny differences that was added apparently by mistake when they sort the masters, but still is a great album.
- Definitely what I’m coming to expect from Bernie Grundman’s mastering. The instruments jump to life.
- Edited one year agoMy local Target had a stack of these so I grabbed one just for the 2 songs not released elsewhere in the catalog. It sounds pretty great and is consistent with the other reissues from Petty. These are some of the best sounding records in my collection and this is no exception.
- Edited one year agoHere I am, 5 years after its release and I find one at Walmart. Only copy they had, dug out from who knows where on Black Friday. Get it home and it's 2 copies of disc one. I returned it, bummed out, but needed to pick something up from Target down the street. Bam! They also had one copy. $4 more, but who cares. I check both stores regularly and had never seen these. Have to say, the mastering is great on this compilation. Very pleased with the sound.
