The vocals on this record are from the musical "Sarafina - The Music of Liberation" which highlights the plight of black children living under apartheid, wherein detention, torture & even murder are a part of growing up. The apartheid system continues to operate in South Africa and laws such as the Internal Security Act still make provision for long periods of detention without trial. Sanctions must remain until Apartheid is fully dismantled.

Pounding System is one person from London with no recorded musical history, a borrowed studio and a flightcase full of ideas that revolve around the fact that rhythmic music weaves a common thread, both historically and globally, from the Wodaabe tribe of Nigeria to the Sound Factory in New York.
