A good album, here's my pick: Genoforce – The Germ (10/10!), Future Forces Inc – Dead By Dawn (The Final Chapter), DJ Kane – System (Optical & Fierce Remix).

Every track a belter. Mastering is top, loud and well defined. Nice thick Plates in a 5-pack that has heft. Glad to own stuff this good on vinyl.

Let it be said that this package is absolutely awesome. Twenty years later and it doesn't seem to have aged one bit, in fact in some ways it sounds better.

This collection should be highly recommended to anyone who's serious about being a Drum&Bass DJ and loves vinyl. Especially when you see how affordable it is, compared to those mad prices that are the norm for many other pieces.

For me its Shogun - Together (John B Remix); that track is very good with its filthy baseline, nice sleek beats and great synth hook. It sounds as fresh today as it did way back when. Awesome album filled with dangerous D&B weaponry.

The Germ, Dillinja Remix of Strontium Jazz. Seminal techstep your mum won't like you listening to.

Oh my gosh!! This LP at the time was the measuring stick when it came to in you face hard and dark drum n bass. I have my personal faves from the 'The Germ' to John B's remix of 'Together'. Grooverider and Randall use to cain 'The Germ', and on a good system this sounded simply 'SICK'. This is what I call a screw your face up tune, hardstep darkness. The 'Together' remix is simply old skool John B at his best, and it's a shame he doesn't make drum n bass like this anymore. He could blend the rough with the smooth like no one else. There's other gems on here as well, the above were just my personal faves. A great LP, you need this in your collection!!

The first & possibly the best of all the Renegage Hardware compilations!!! Dark & hard with every tune a killer, nice packaging-the sleeve artwork hints at the stark futuristic breaks & beats within...
Basically the blueprint for most of their releases since...Listen to this album & you will see what I mean, don't get me wrong , I am not underrating Renagade's subsequent releases, I'm just saying this album is where it all started...MUST HAVE for all Junglists/D&B heads old & new...
Update 2009 new years eve...Just played most of this album in a set last night in Croydon and it tore up the place!!! so many young nu-skool d&B headz lovin' the tunage...nice! anyway, for those that dont know, this selection is a cheap & easy introduction to dark intelligent techstep with very high production/remix values. 11 years later and I can still say, still an amazing release...Just look at the artist/credits list(Genoforce/Absolute Zero...Bad Company...before Bad Company, Genotype (Just Jungle/Mastermind etc) Dillinja etc, even John B before he went stupid...Every track a tear-out, every artist/producer/remixer a master of their trade...and remember this album was released in 98' and it still tears up the floor even now!
