- For all you guys complaining about the quality control issues, just buy the regular black vinyl release:
Stranger Things - Volume One (A Netflix Original Series)
Beautifully quiet pressing with a powerful dynamic sound.
Sure, it's only on boring black vinyl. But unless you like staring at your records while you play them, I don't see an issue. - My glow-in-the-dark pressing has so much noise that I went and got a refund. Ordered through MerchNow who ignored all my emails and calls. Horrible company. Sad to see so many people have noise issues with this release.
- My copy has the One Red / One Blue discs. Not 50/50. Haven't listened to the whole thing yet.But it does sound like a lot of surface noise. Do you know if they will replace these misprints?
- Edited 8 years agoIs anyone else a little dissatisfied with this as a standalone album?
I know it was great with the show, it fit well and helped create that '80s vibe they wanted to lift from Tangerine Dream and Carpenter scores...but it just doesn't do it for me like Tangerine Dream or Carpenter records do. It doesn't even half-way compare to what Carpenter achieved with his scores. Tangerine Dream and Carpenter albums/scores are what I grew up on, so I think they are untouchable - and even with all the faults people can point out in their scores, they at least were decent to great standalone records. I've spun Stranger Things vol 1 three times now, and it has become more dull with each spin.
Am I alone here? Or was the hype of the show what propelled this into be so incredibly anticipated, regardless of the music itself? And I promise - I'm not trying to be a hipster here and just down something because its currently popular. I know these guys are talented. I think their self-titled album is brilliant! - I think this page is pretty reliable for the variant info.
