- I had good contact with the drummer Jim Toomey here on the Sunshine Coast a good few years back where he was playing drums for a local rock band then. I was mates with the bass player and got to know Jim through him. He is an interesting fellow with a lot of stories of the other musos he had come in contact with and met in the UK back then in the mid 1960's onwards. One was Jimi Hendrix who he met and shook hands with and he told me Jimi got up on stage and played the other bands bass guitar and lots other stuff, really great stories of other now famous musos he had met. So I ended up shaking the hand that shook Jimi Hendrix hand many years ago , good enough for me!
