|252 Lakes In Asia (Acido Liquid Mix)
- Edited 7 years agoAcido back at it again - one of the more consistently excellent labels of the past few years. While each of the tracks here are varied there's an overlaying sense of coherency in the sense they all have the same sort of ambience running through them. My favourite tracks from this compilation are the two opening each side; SW.'s effort a gentle journey into mournful, shimmering yet melancholic ambient. Fett Burger & Telephone's cut on the b-side is a curious and quirky psychedelic jaunt, kind of like wandering through a fairground as the drugs start to kick in. Totally wicked stuff! Make sure to check Sotofett's A4 if you enjoy the recent dub/reggae joints on Sex Tags Amfibia.
Has anyone else had any issues with the pressing of this record? I've tried on a couple of different setups with different weights, anti-skate adjustments etc and i'm still having problems.
- Edited 7 years agoOutstanding, was definitely a great surprise to find a modern record using such esoteric sounds. It seems to draw inspiration from traditional indonesian music, which on the B side is layed over some smooth and narcotic house grooves conveying you to outer space, plus a second track containing cool british voice samples about fire and power. The A side has two landscape tunes, a very enjoyable spacey/ psychedelic reggae dub tune and the main track which stays closer to the original atmospheres of 'Gamelan'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRS13e5R8GI
