Reviews
- Edited 4 years agoAlthough it seems obvious, reading the reviews here, that the UK black vinyl version sounds better than the US one, I would not say that it is a perfect one : too much surface noise can be heard in between the tracks, particularly on the A -side. That's too bad because it is such a very good record ! Unless you're a pure genius, you have to be a solid and frank, inspired collective to realise such an achievement... These songs would as much be filed under "soft rock" as "indie pop", they could be considered as a true treasury by Crosby Stills Nash and Young's addicts as secretely adored by old Field Mice's fans. "Here", the shyness of jingle-jangled chords melts with a noisy wall of sound, an underground musical culture is served by a three-decades' expertise, and the fuzzy guitars compete with clear vocal harmonies...As euphoric as a Fleetwood Mac tune playing on the road and at the same time as "sensitive" as an old Sarah single, this a definitely an album to cherish !
- Great album. UK version is nice and warm. Quality pressing, no warps and no skipping, unlike the US version. The sound is not very open, I'm not sure that it was mastered specifically to vinyl,so I'll give it 8/10.
