this pressing is amazing. got it a few months ago, gave it a deep wet clean, and its perfect. no clicks or pops, and the soundstage is wonderful. if youre using headphones and it doesnt sound good, change your setup. highly recommend getting this EU pressing if possible.

This is damn near one of the greatest pressings I’ve ever heard in my life. And I’ve got original Parlophone/Capitol copies of this album. Goodness.

Opened a sealed copy, got it professionally cleaned, play it on a vintage Marantz 2245 cranked at 12 o’clock with a Pro-Ject Carbon Evo turntable and Sumiko Moonstone cartridge.

Not a single crackle or pop. Just the low hum of high quality and thoughtfully pressed vinyl. Unbelievable sound, power, and depth to this pressing. Simply magnificent.

This copy is the definitive way to listen to this timeless and iconic album. The marginal upgrade from 10” to 12” plates seems to make a difference- with a bonus Easter egg on the end of side A. Simply a must-have copy, especially for the cost!

Crisp and beautiful, this one sounds incredible. I especially enjoyed the surprise locked groove at the end of Alpha.

This mastering is flawless. One of the best pressings I've ever heard. Highly dynamic.

Mine is great other than the crackling on Treefingers (out of all the tracks to crackle on lol)

Reviews are weird on this one. Mine smokes all previous versions. Reference level press.

My copy has two instances of crackling. Doesn't really affect the listening experience. Otherwise, it is an excellent sounding pressing.

My press is Perfect. Silent vinyl. No surface noise at all even in headphones. Huge dynamics. Analogue warm sound. 3D sound scape. Really good

I was one of the unlucky ones, unfortunately. I gave it a deep clean before listening (and then re-listening to be certain), but sides B and D have a substantial amount of ongoing crackling and repeated pops (the type that happen at the same spot every rotation). For the semi-premium price I paid, it's just not up to snuff.

It's a shame because the music itself sounds great, and the other 3 albums I own from XL Records have been good stuff.

Back to the store it goes, but I'll thank my lucky stars that I have the sense not to be a vinyl purist. Time to buy the CD instead.
