The Rolling Stones – The Rolling Stones In Mono

The only CD from The Rolling Stones In Mono CD box set I would not listen to or listen to throughout your life is Aftermath (US version). Paint It, Black on it is edited. It does not have the ending that is on Singles Collection: The London Years and Forty Licks. Singles Collection: The London Years is worth getting even though Paint It, Black (Mono) is on Forty Licks because Forty Licks have newer tracks by The Rolling Stones (which started after Tattoo You) and Forty Licks (Online Version) have the edited tracks not edited (which makes the original version not worth getting while you would have Paint It, Black (Mono) on original disc with Singles Collection: The London Years).

The Rolling Stones studio albums starting from Aftermath is when they really become true albums. Studio tracks of the three UK studio albums by The Rolling Stones that is before Aftermath is on the first five US Studio albums. The Rolling Stones US version of the first studio album fits better with the US studio albums of before Aftermath than the UK version. The US studio albums of before Aftermath just fit together better. If you get the three studio versions of UK studio albums before Aftermath, you would not need The Rolling Stones England's Newest Hit Makers or Hot Rocks 1964-1971 (other albums have Paint It Black). More Hot Rocks (Big Hits & Fazed Cookies) can go really well with Hot Rocks 1964-1971 for being part two. The Rolling Stones first five US studio albums and the UK studio albums of after should be the main cannon of The Rolling Stones studio albums. The only time I would not want a studio album from a music artist I really like is if at least most of the tracks are on another studio album. All the tracks from the Jerry Cantrell studio album Degradation Trip is on Degradation Trip Volumes 1 & 2 and Degradation Trip is not worth having if you would get music from Jerry Cantrell. All the albums do fit in the CD box set and they are not random.

"Their Satanic Majesties Request" in this box is not the original mono pressing. Why, in the original you can hear two bells.

I typically try to pick up originals as the majority of reissues/remasters albums we see today cannot match their original releases (which were successful for a reason). This box set is one of the exceptions - the quality of these are definitely superior to the orignal pressings I own.

Apparently, the vinyl box is being reissued later this month (on colored vinyl). I'm assuming they'll be using the same stampers etc. The bloke from Parlogram auctions gave it a positive review in terms of sound quality, vinyl quality, packaging, etc.

If it's as good as the black vinyl edition, get on it!

Watch Merbar.com. They often do "random" 24hr or so flash sales on various items. Grabbed it last week when it was on sale for $360, then added a 30% off holiday code (couldn't believe it worked), so brought it down to $250!
Realize this scenario is rare, but I think a flash sale could happen again. This set is way overpriced.

Not trying to plug Amazon, but if you apply for an Amazon credit card online, they give you a $150 gift card when accepted which you can use at checkout when purchasing this. Quite a deal imo when it costs $450.

Ordered this box set in July 2022 from the Netherlands.. Just logged in at Amazon. Status: delivery 5 th of november! Let’s see what is going to happen..

Is this really getting re-released October 26th? Still no info on if the rumors were true.

Still amazing that - at a minimum - ABKCO can't keep the CD boxset in-print (or even release them individually) when counterfeiters clearly can. Indefensible
