Edited one year agoAs per the liner notes, the title of this record is a reference to the amount of steps that a runner named Andy West took (2500 miles) to raise money for the Muscular Distrophy Association. Harris composed this track out of inspiration and a shared desire to find a cure for MD.
The instrumental is an absolute bomb that has aged quite well - mystifies me that it goes for so little on Discogs. I'd skip the vocal and go straight for the B side, which is basically a "part two" version which doesn't include the poppy and dated vocal intro.- The vocal version is somewhat cheesy in the beginning, but turns out to be a killer!
