Show All 23 Reviews- Not all the Labels on the first press read 'Magma', i got a copy with 'Miagma' that i bought in 2018 (found the order in my thunderbrid). I guess they pressed a few hundred, realised the mistake and quickly corrected the label.
- So with this record, the new school lo-fi dance music movement peaked, and after that, it kinda fell from grace. Thousands of bedroom producers, with a backround often in tech house and Beatport deep house style, started to imitate the sound and flooded the scene with mediocre tunes and so the lo-fi movement was being called out as a fad and kind of lost its credibility and underground rep. Which kinda sucks, because when lo-fi house/techno started to emerge in the 2010's it was really one of the best things in a long time, it was a fresh and exciting scene to discover for any underground dance music fan. When artists like Mall Grab, Ross From Friends, DJ Boring, Palms Trax, DJ Seinfeld, Subjoi, Adriyano hit big with their lo-fi dance hits, a lot of people distanced themselves from the lo-fi scene, with entire online communities drying up. But there is still hope. True lo-fi house music has been with us since the very beginning of house music, and it won't go anywhere. Just ignore the fad and stay true to your roots. Let the vibes guide you.
- As someone else (kind of) stated in the comments, the "Winona" track and imagery heavenly reminds of Vaporwave / Mallsoft aesthetics. So either the producer is not really new or he is new and did a great (?) job by copying the Vaporwave and transferring it into the Deep House.
- Samples 'Melon City' from Dream Carpets - Interior Fountains I think . . .
- I Just received my copy. This Ep is a stand out! I love the sample and the chords and the drum loop and the 303 baseline it just all works so well. I don't think it's hyped. Haters gonna hate.
- After collecting deep house n what not for nearly 25 years now I try not to get sucked into the hype and to be honest I never ever watch YouTube so that helps
But I have to say the A side is a pretty good standout deep house cut that is very modern, yes I agree in it's production it's meant to sound old and dusty I guess ,but regardless a good track is a good track and I love the Winona sample I really do
I can see this being a collectible record in time to come as long as they don't go and over press the fuck out if it
