Noisy surface with dimples. Cute in kids nor so much on vinyl.
Guess I’ll try the Euro version.

The songs ... as deep as it can get. Once I have it on the turntable I cannot stop listening to it over and over again. The album sucks be up completely.

I've compared the Europe vs 3 US pressings and the European copy comes out a long way ahead - MUCH less surface noise and better separation.
        Amazingly emotional recording...a must.

Good lord this sounds good. Silent wax. Leonard's voice cuts through like gravel (in a good way). Sounds like he's playing right in front of you! You can't really argue with anything really. Bernie Grundman mastering, RTI press. It's a win

bad pressing - distorted layers in the intro, later tics and imperfections. I say this w bleeding heart: get the CD.

When I bought it, just after it came out, I could hardly listen to this album, because of its dark mood. Now, with some distance, I can concentrate on the quality of the songs. And there are quite a few strong compositions. Tasteful arrangements, too.

The sound quality is very good, very transparent, Cohen's voice is close, as several others observed. I was lucky with my pressing, it is quiet and except very few of tiniest little crackles (only audible at higher volume on good equipment), nearly perfect. I don't worry about dirt: after two rounds in my Gläss ultrasonic cleaner any possible dirt is gone.

My copy is perfect in every way. Perhaps I was lucky...It has good sound with no noise. The dynamics are good. The voice is very deep and all the instruments sound like playing front of you.

I rate a release, not the music. Nice print, but the quality of pressing is very bad. Hissing in right channel during whole album. Lots of micro-pops. Very noisy mass. Very disappointed with this pressing of an excellent album.

Don't like the sound quality and also there's noise on the one channel. I'm hearing it, especially with the first two tracks. It can be heard with mostly MC cartridges.

I think this version is pretty ok… except for the last song, Treaty (Reprise), which came with a horrible mark, looks like somebody dropped tons of dust on it. Tried to clean a thousand times, but to very little effect. And it's also the calmest song on the record. Bummer.
