      Anyone else find that the PMC 7171 sounds a bit echoed, like it was mono turned stereo in a weird way?

        The best way to hear these albums is to AVOID the US Apple and US Capitol pressings. They used subpar dubs, many of these, particularly the RED album are plagued with processed Mono versions that are not True mono mixes from the UK but rather fold downs of echo chamber processed stereo tapes done by Crapitol in the US. Totally horrible. As far as the Blue album is concerned, fold down Mono versions instead of true stereo from the UK. I don't care if it's on colored vinyl. It's crap. Beginning with tracks from "Revolver" (1966) CRAPITOL was stopped from messing around with the sound of the music, but they still used subpar copies and the mastering is truly bad, particularly the change in sound or EQ in the middle of "Hey Jude". Pay a little extra money and get a UK copy instead. Dutch pressings are OK if they use UK stampers. German pressings are also good but they tend to be a little "harsh", but not the disaster that is Crapitol.

            I have a UK copy with three x corner cut on the inner sleeves, cat number is PCSP 717, cannot find any entry for this? Am i missing it somehow?

                The UK 1973 pressing that I own is certainly a second hand copy, is 50 year old this year, and still sounds great.

                  Only 26 tracks on this double disc, compared to it’s counterpart LP’s 28 … room enough to add ( say )’Taxman’ and ‘Twist & Shout’
                  A bit overloaded with ‘Rubber Soul’ tracks too ( although no bad songs on it )
