I ordered a record a bit sub par to this release and seller just included this in it for free without me knowing... was only few years later I listened back to it and realised this one was the special one! haha
I got records at a fast and furious pace (no pun intended I hate those movies) back in the day so I often never absorbed EP's like this fully. You know how that goes, get an EP for tracks like 'Crickets' and 'He's Gone' but then years later pull the record out and go "WOW!" This is one of those times. Was on a Tom & Jerry kick so I decided to delve a little bit more into the Manix & Tek 9/ Reinforced back catalog (since Mark & Dego are Tom & Jerry) and like I mentioned on the Tom & Jerry label page, so often these classic tunes on Reinforced are looked over. The vibes on this EP are so strong. Niceness all the way, Different Ting Remix just hits you on so many levels and again it's utterly amazing that these tunes are 22 years old and sound so fresh still today. I guess I should not even say something like that, it's almost insulting. Mark & Dego are pioneers of sound, to capture an era so well with their label Reinforced. Nothing taken away from Underground Software either, the whole EP is a gem- and the title track Music Maker Posse should never be overlooked! I wonder why he did not go on to make more tunes besides the 3 records on Reinforced?
He's gone and The Crickets, Randall Roast The Astoria 93. Pure london underground vibes, makes me all goose pimply, so much class and so goddamn ruff, why did the jungle/dnb massive stop producing tracks like this, where did the soul go?
