    My first vinyl record.
Russia. 1998 and I am 16 years old. A box with used records. 10 bucks. About one-twentieth of my father's monthly salary. Changed it to another record 3 years later. Regretted. Bought a test pressing version few years ago.
    • sample: chameleon - links uses carl craig - et les

Funny I just acknowledged this track is from Mark Pritchard!!! Another reason to take a closer look into his entire subsequent discography. From my top of GLR magic

Just a heads up, there is a different unreleased anywhere else version of ‘Links’ on the first Artcore compilation, it has a completely different drum track. And it’s cheap!
          I like both versions.

Masterpiece. Key. Fresh. Different. Chameleon gets it done with a double A side release. Links is a sweet bubblin' roller with amen touches and of course begins with the sample from the movie 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off'. Also found on Logical Progression 1... had to be good to feature on that release.

Just Close Your Eyes was way ahead of the game... a trip hop, tropical house, D&B slice of beats and chilled out vibes. Mark System drops this in his Soundcloud Fabric Live mix, check it out!

For me on this release its always gonna be .... Just close yours eyes and listen .... and that is what you need to do!

Sounding like piece of 80's soul - think Maze and Frankie Beverley and you won't be far wrong...this tune is made for hot summers and played outside on big systems!

              Pure vibes

I think there is also a little sample taken from the "Alien" movie of 1979. It's only repeated a few times in the whole tune. Quite a few times actually now I've listened to it again.
Well, I know it is coz I've watched that movie a zillion times and it's one of the incidental music sounds in it. So there.

I heard this on a late night show with fabio on Radio 1 when I was young man, then I heard it on Don fm a few weeks latter, loved it then and love it now. A classic! A must have if your a GLR fan.

Only one word can describe both of these tracks.... BEAUTIFUL!

I have been listening to drum and bass music since its birth in the early 90's and, quite frankly, both of these tracks (when compared to today’s standards) are timeless classics.

If you like the deep and intelligent style of old school drum and bass then these are definitely two tunes to hear before you die - best listened to on a warm summer’s day.

Just close your eyes and listen!

"I've said it before and I'll say it again. Life moves pretty fast; you don't stop to look around once in a while, you could miss it". A classic sample, taken from Matthew Broderick's end monologue to camera at the end of the 1986 film 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' kicks off Chameleon's 'Links'; a track that was included on Bukem's seminal 'Logical Progression' album. Although described in many quarters as an 'intelligent' track, 'Links' rides along on a bumpy-yet-funky Amen break, interspersed with male vocal 'Woaah' stabs.
