- Under the name Jazzanova is to this publication (from 2000) never released their own number, but if remix collective then let them breath of fresh air for a few years by the what rusted dance scene. He has a new and distinctive sound that developed mainly on the Brazilian bossa nova groove peace and many artists make their music have been through this collective remixes. This double-cd has all the productions together collected and is the largest dance music sensation of the year. Fits very well in the row Kruder and Dorfmeister & Fila Brazilia home. Many people will ask you what you have ... Jazzanova so.
- Edited 19 years agoWell, I don't know if something's wrong with a person if they don't have this release; let's just say that their taste needs to be a bit more eclectic. Ever wonder why a lot of people on this site have this in their homes? Since I'm a percussion junkie, I get it. I was taken aback at how diverse these guys really can be. You will be, too, if you're a first-time listener. Best bets: all of them are top-notch; but my personal faves are 1-1, 1-2, 1-5, 2-1, 2-6, 2-9, and 2-10. I dare DJs to sneak these in their mixes in the big clubs. BTW, when's collection #2 coming?
- Edited 20 years agoIn general, the words "remixed by Jazzanova" are a symbol of excellence. On this collection, THE REMIXES 1997-2000, Jazzanova present some of their best and brightest work, and it goes without saying that if you don't have this in your collection, something's seriously wrong with you. On the first disc, you have uptempo tracks, such as the fast breaks on 4 Hero's "We Who Are Not As Others" followed by the mid-tempo house of Marschmellows' "Soulpower" and the even harder house of Men From the Nile's "Watch Them Come." Varied and versatile: these are good things. Their mix of Karma's "High Priestess" takes an already great song into spy smoothness. The second disc focuses on the more relaxed mixes and kicks off with "Fifths" by Ski, sweet and subdued. Ursula Rucker's "Circe" is a moody siren song; Liquid Lounge's "Complete Life" swoops and dives into soul jazz; Ian Pooley's sublime "What's Your Number" gets a smooth funky groove. Their take on Soul Quality Quartet's "Toda Tersafeira" cuts up the vocals and reassembles them into an equally pleasing form. The final track takes MJ Cole's two-step classic "Sincere," and turns it deeper and more electronic. Brilliance all throughout the two discs.
