- Edited one year agoYou will be hard pressed to find such great big band music in this postmodern era than this DIRECT to DISC Buddy Rich album....I feel this was when Buddy and his band were at the pinnacle of their musical heritage...So driven, so tight...Yes, Buddy and the crew were swinging...The Joe Zawinul opener is so red hot it is hard to image you listening to it without slamming your hands down on something...plus if you are not tapping your toe you are stone cold DEAF...Had this clear sounding DIRECT to DISC LP decades ago and lost it during a move...So glad to score one in tip top condition from a Discogs source and now I smile, I pleasure my ears, PLUS I tape my toe...a whole lot...
