- Gotta Have You B1 one of the deepest pieces of all time ! Who is really involved in deep house from the early era can understand. Bought in shop at first listening in june 1991.
Wanna Feel The Music nice for music but sample is too used (was used at that time too in other productions). - I Wanna feel The Music (Smooth Mix) is my favorite Strictly Rhythm song. I love the ambiance, the beats, & flute of course. This song will remain my favorite song of all time.
- Absolutely can't go wrong with "I Wanna Feel the Music". One of the defining House beats of all-time, up there with Don Carlos - "Alone" and K.C.Y.C. - "I'm not Dreamin'".
- I Wanna Feel The Music (Hype Dub) and Gotta Have You (Smooth Mix) 2 definitive underground masterpieces!!!
- Edited 7 years agoAnother classic-classic from the Strictly label in the period when they just pumped out classics! (OK, i admit, and a few rough sample house trax too)
Similar in feel to, and just as good as "Luv dancin'" (SR12020), and like that track, it still sounds fresh and timeless.
Like many of the best deep house tracks of the era it takes a few elements (deep organs, minimal skippy beats, razor tight hi hats, a few soulful moans) and works them up into a solid whole, before adding some jazzy keys over the latter half.
When this works (as this does!) the track is SO much more than the sum of its parts and truly a thing of beauty, IMHO.
Have you guessed that this is one of my favorite records yet?!
