Radiohead – The Bends

Honestly doesn't sound nearly as bad as I thought it would've. Pretty good sound all around, but towards the end of Side A especially it starts to falter. An Optimal pressing is probably better, but spring on this if you want it for cheap

Anyone else's come with the sticker on side B covering the final 15 seconds of street spirit? Kinda wild this happened, haven't seen this yet in 15 years of heavy collecting

I just got this with the same barcode, but the following Matrix:

Side A: 233529E1/A, Side B: 233529E2/B

I love the album but the mix on this pressing sounds spotty in parts. Thom’s voice in particular sounds a bit thin on some songs. There were a lot of skips on Side B out of the wrap but a wet wash seems to have sorted them out. There’s also a little sharp protrusion on the edge of the record that doesn’t affect the play as far as I can tell but will catch your finger—I imagine it is just symptomatic of a low quality pressing.

The pressing is really rough as others mentioned already a few tracks straight up skip and it’s just a little too hot. Get it if you really want it and maybe trade up once a better repress or if a remaster comes along

The music speaks for itself. The pressing itself is a tad flat. It is indeed notably compressed compared to some of the other XL pressings. This is one of 5 Radiohead albums I have. My favorite from a musical standpoint, but least impressive sonically. That said, I paid just over $22 and it will do until I find a better EU pressing at a justifiable price. Until then, my CD fills the sonic gap nicely.

Terrible pressing. Repeatedly skips despite a good cleaning. My Street Spirit (Fade Out) gets stuck and loops (and ironically never gets to fade out).

Terrible pressing. Sounds compressed and the quality control was nonexistent. Loud pops throughout the record, despite wet cleaning.

Would love recommendations for the best pressing of this album.
