- Yes, this is a very strong EP that I'm surprised I haven't heard more.
On the A side, "Power of Yoga" wouldn't sound out of place in a UK oldskool hardcore set, alternating between a ravey stab sequence and some warmer moments, alongside a classic 909 & breakbeat combination. "Release" has more typical early 90s techno percussion and some nice bleepy riffs, but with a wonderfully spiky piano throughout.
"Natural High" on the B side is probably the highlight. Starting out quite unassumingly with some simple percussion and some nice warm pads, but this blossoms into full mellow euphoria, with the addition of a chunky amen turning it into an unstoppable rave anthem. It later saw a variety of fantastic remixes, by Zki & Dobre of Fresh Fruit, Global Communication and Dave Angel - and was sampled by UK hardcore legends Chaos & Julia Set on their "Fear Of Future" EP. (later repackaged as a legit remix). Although the strength of these remixes shouldn't overshadow how fantastic that original version is.
Finally to round the EP off is "Suburbia", which is a nice slow techno track to round the EP off - quite mellow, but also quite trippy. A nice contrast to the other 3.
Definitely underrated - but that does also mean it hasn't succumbed to crazy Discogs price inflation yet - so well worth it! - Great 4 tracker that has aged quite well. B2 is a very pleasant surprise right at the end - nice mellow techy affair.
