Reviews
- To me, "... Hammer ..." is in my eternal top ten of the best, most idiosyncratic and most original avantgarde albums of all time! One of the most fascinating listening experiences I ever had!
- Intriguing album of fairly hard-to-listen-to avant anti-pop. The songs seem half-formed.... like snippets. The previous EP Spoonfed and Writhing didn't have any audio content by Danielle Dax (she designed the sleeve). On this album she provides most of the vocals and co-wrote all the songs (and designed the sleeve). I like it - but it doesn't get listened to that often. A curious artifact from the dying days of post-punk.... when everything seemed possible but, in the end, the music didn't move forward into the '80s like it should have done.
