- Recently picked this up and very happy with the sound coming of these LPs. It’s only ever been CD and streaming for me. Now I’m hearing little details I’ve not noticed before. Just swap out those paper sleeves and you’re good to go. Recommended.
- Edited 4 months agoClicks, pops, hiss, hum and distorted vocals. It all sounded a bit WRONG on CD back in the day.
Can't fault this lovely pressing. The clicks, pops, hiss, hum and distortion are all maintained but on a quiet, flat plate of lush vinyl. Lows are beautifully deep. As usual, vinyl unifies the frequencies more authentically to balance out what used to be boomy and metallic crisp on the CD. Also the episodic nature of the album being divided into four sides makes for a more satisfying, focussed and digestable listen. Superb product. Would've loved a gatefold with more obscure, moody artwork, but hey!
Perfect to my ears, this one. Goodbye to my old CD....palmed off to Ebay. - The album is great! The record had a little static but honestly I don't mind since it adds to it in a weird way.
- Just received this album as a gift. Been on my to purchase for a long time. Problem I had was it came with Side A and B. The other record was The Dummy album! Anyone else run into this?? This pressing sounds excellent! Just need the other half!
- Great pressing on 180g x2. Sounds much richer than the digital versions. New record was a bit smeary and needed a clean.
- Sounds amazing and gives the album new depth.
Really impressed by how good it sounds. A lot of noise there is a vinyl noise, and instruments sound as if they were recorded in 60s or 70s. Seems like this is a perfect medium for this album. - Good pressing! Quiet on surface noise (other than the noise that is part of the music of course). Presentation is good, the photograph on the cover looks kind blurry but if you look online you'll see that's just what the artwork looks like. Only real complaint I can leverage is that Western Eyes (a quiet track with intimate vocals) is fairly sibilant for me. Great otherwise, worth owning.
