One hell of an album. Loved it to death, though unfortunately when I ripped it to my desktop the rips ended up heavily bitcrushed. Probably had something to do with the disc I ripped being bought way back then by my dad.

An album that has never gotten a great vinyl masterring and pressing. Many lesser albums have been given great deluxe editions, yet still nothing for AI. A deluxe box set, 4LP cut, with extra full AI Tour live vinyl, demos, what have you. How has this not been done yet? My wallet is open when this album is finally given the deluxe treatment, until then the 2009 pressing will be my go to, even though it is certainly not perfect, but better than anything yet.

In the aftermath of 9/11 and the USA vs Iraq war came this lp from Green day - American idiot and the System Of A Down 2 lps - Hypnotized and Mesmerized. Both lps clearly were raging at the unjust wars, the labelling of anyone not white as Terrorists and more.
However, fully aware of media and public backlash these 3 lps don't specifically name their targets... mainly because the climate now means to do so would kill their career, get redneck death threats and probably house of congress questions about these band's daring to write such lyrics. Its not hard however to read between the lines and see these album's call out both the public for being hoodwinked and apathetic as well as the government, army and police as being corrupt. They therefore fall into the spirit of punk very much so (though SOAD are probably nu-metal more so?)
If nothing else 3 great lps. Probably the height of their careers... Green Day and SOAD certainly for me haven't bettered these since.
