Reviews
- Overplayed to the point of nausea. But still utterly brilliant. The clever build-up, the hip hop samples, the cheerful bouncy basslines, the switches throughout the songs, and the fact that both A and B-side are equally good. Zinc was on fire! Overshadowed by the unbelievably iconic Remixes 12", I still prefer the less muscular originals.
- Don't really have anything else to say other than it's kind of sad Zinc got remembered for his shittiest song. Super Sharp Shooter is awful and that's a hill I'm more than willing to die on.
- Edited one year agoAgreed, Garylanders; remixes Volume 4 came along & smashed both original versions to pieces!!
BUT, these were very very large (in fact seminal) records & still hold weight today as they cleared the path for the onslaught. I can't be having these 1st takes abandoned, so I mix the old with the new & double drop. Yeah, so damn fresh!!
Both versions of 'SSS' are classic & then some. - 'Super Sharp Shooter' was big. At the time, it seem to be played at least once at every party where there was jungle/dnb. So much that I got tired of hearing it. I'll never forget the sound of those gunshots.
- Edited 14 years agosurprised no one's written about this yet
absolutely enormous tune responsible for converting many hip hop heads to jungle
caned by DJs of all kinds
