A brilliant album of varying styles. Do yourself a favour and get this while it’s cheap. For me this is the point at which the scene and sounds were starting to change towards that liquid sound with the simpler drum patterns, for me it’s where some of the inventive stuff started to tail off and become a bit formulaic towards the start of the 00s.- Yes, remixes are of high quality, especially those of TRIPPIN' ON BROKEN BEATS (that classic !) and WHO ARE YOU ? (much more confidential i think until recent years, it's a standout track though, haunting from start to finish).
- Maybe the most musical drum n bass album out there, which raised the standard for intelligent drum and bass very high. This and the follow up album were real highlights and have not faded over more than a decade now.
Anyway, on one of those nights in 1996 I decided to mix the Aquasky remix of Who Are You followed by Aphex Twin's To Cure A Weakling Child from his RDJ album - we had such a good laugh! Give it a try yourself! But Haunted Kind got most rotation until today.
