Some of the style descriptors on a number of Discogs's listings are hastily ascribed. Here is a case in point. Synkro's work collected here certainly falls outside the generic signifiers 'ambient' and 'downtempo' In fact, the first disc is pretty well-established (and straightforward, if somewhat atmospheric) dubstep, plain and simple. On the second disc, there is a bit more emphasis on soundscapes but the rhythms are still there. I'm inclined to think that a combination of laziness & poor research (perhaps the individual who created this listing naturally assumed it was ambient due to its being issued on Apollo?) led to the misleading info appended here; unfortunately, this is a problem that is somewhat rampant throughout Discogs, with too many listings being outright misnomers. All that being said, Synkro's early work remains fairly indistinct & unremarkable dubstep, competently designed & executed but more focused on attaining the kind of 'mainstream' access (the sleepytime vocals are a dead giveaway) that has since crippled the form.
