the previous stated release date 1969 was wrong! The Masterplayers were an ad hoc-formation of leading european musicians, founded by Richard Schumacher in 1975. I played in that group and the following recordings took place in the Theater of Vevey-Switzerland, November 1975 for two LPs: Mozart: Concerto for Flute and Harpe KV 299, J.S.Bach: Suite No.2 B-minor BWV 1067 (Decca 7373) Haydn: Symphony No. 88, Mozart: Symphony in A KV 201 & Sinfonia Concertante for Violin, Viola, Violoncello and Orchestra (Decca 7376). A third LP had been produced with Mercadante Concertos for Flute and Clarinet with Maxence Larrieu and Karl Leister, released in 1978. "The Masterplayers" had their last appearence with concerts and workshops in the Orvieto Festival, Italy, August 1977.
