She was originally part of The Brooklyn Funk Essentials and has collaborated with artists like Kelis, Talib Kweli, Amp Fiddler, and many more.
Her debut album, "McKay" (2003), was produced by Portishead's Geoff Barrow and Earthling's Tim Saul, and had quite some success on its release.
